Like to shop with other people's money? Our client Children, Incorporated could use your help for a very good cause!

Our favorite Richmond-based non-profit organization is in need of several volunteers for the 3rd Annual back-2-school shopping program called Bright Beginnings. The four-day shopping spree at Target will pair Downtown YMCA children with volunteer shopping buddies to purchase school clothing.

Madison+Main staffers have volunteered each of the last two years and this year we're asking clients, friends and family to come and join us. It's a great evening and a great cause!

RICHMOND, VA –– Two local, family-owned and Richmond-based businesses are partnering to give Richmond residents significant discounts on fuel purchases at 14 participating local gas stations.

Officials with Uppy’s Convenience Stores, Inc. and Ukrop’s Super Markets, Inc. at a news conference today unveiled plans for a new customer loyalty program. The pilot launches on Monday, June 30 to offer Richmond-area Ukrop’s customers substantial price reductions at 14 BP and Exxon fueling stations operated by Uppy’s and its parent company Chester, Virginia-based Southside Oil. By the end of the summer, more than 30 Uppy’s-operated fueling stations will participate in the program.

Each fuelperks!® discount can be used for up to 20 gallons of gas or diesel every time you use your Ukrop’s UVC card. Once a reward is redeemed, customers start earning a new reward based on their qualifying grocery purchases at any of the 24 Richmond-area Ukrop’s locations. 5.9.2008  Madison+Main Rolls a "Cannonball" Home from Richmond Ad Show Madison+Main has a nice, new pair of paperweights that oddly resemble Cannonballs, as we brought home our first-ever awards from The Richmond Show on April 18th. The Richmond Show, hosted by Richmond Ad Club, is an annual advertising competition for Richmond-based advertising agencies, judged by representatives from agencies in New York City, Washington D.C., Charlotte            and Boston.

 

Out of a pool of over 500 entries from every advertising agency in Richmond, M+M picked up a coveted Cannonball in the Promotional Design category. The competition was stiff, including entries from RightMinds, BCF, Barber-Martin and the Martin Agency, the 3rd largest agency in the US. Figure in our recent national awards for Chesterfield County School System's GED campaign as well as an international Public Relations award and it just goes to show that Madison+Main is ready to roll.

Amanda Cinfio, Office Manager, was born in Cambridge, UK but has resided in many other countries. She attended Watford College (now West Herts) in the UK, having studied Business Administration and Marketing & Advertising. She is married, fluent in Spanish, speaks conversational French and claims to make a "mean guacamole."

Will Trible is a graduate of James Madison University, having earned his BFA with a concentration in graphic design. He signs on as a Graphic Production Artist, after interning the summer of '07 at M+M. In 2007, Will was one of only four JMU graphic design majors selected to compete in the student design competition "Flux," which was sponsored by the American Institute Graphic Arts (AIGA) Blueridge Chapter and Shepherd University, and accepted a mere 28% of its entries.

Another Certified GAP for M+M

Phill Condrey recently passed the Google Adwords Professional (GAP) certification exam, making him one of two GAPs at Madison+Main. He is the second to earn the title. Jeff Maslan, Internet Marketing Manager, of our San Diego office, is also a GAP. Phill and Jeff are two of only 250 Ad Words professionals in the United States, and about 1,000 in the world. The Metropolitan Business League now offers one-on-one counseling and a wide variety of seminars, classes and workshops each week. The Small Business Boot Camp sessions are industry specific (food service sanitation techniques, restaurant cost control and construction project management) as well as general (customer service, effective meetings, teams and teambuilding).

Shawn Smith, Director of Communications for Madison+Main, continues to be the go-to on-air expert for the coverage of local and national politics on NBC-12 (Richmond, Virginia NBC affiliate) and News Radio 1140 WRVA (AM 1140, Richmond).

Recently featured by NBC-12 in an election-eve news story, Shawn accurately predicted the election returns and the future impact it would have on Virginia politics. Wythe Will Distributing, the nations leading distributor of candy, confections and specialty foods to retail stores, has teamed up with Madison+Main, Advertising & New Media to design and develop two new catalogs. Wythe Will Distributing operates out of a 100,000 square foot distribution center in Toano, VA, which services candy retailers, specialty gourmet shops and upscale gourmet grocery stores around the world.

Chesterfield County Retains Madison+Main for Branding Campaign

Chesterfield County's Department of Economic Development Partners with Advertising and New Media Firm to Brand Chesterfield County as a First Choice Community for Business

Madison+Main, Advertising & New Media is pleased to announce its collaboration with Chesterfield County's Department of Economic Development. Madison+Main will work with CED and other community partners to develop a comprehensive brand campaign in 2007. The community brand package includes a logo for the County's Department of Economic Development and messaging consistent with their brand position as a First Choice Community for business. The initial campaign, slated for 3 months, will launch this Spring.

The Chesterfield County Department of Economic Development (CED) works on a free and confidential basis with domestic and foreign companies planning to establish new facilities, relocate existing facilities, or expand current facilities. The department also assists existing businesses and industries already located in Chesterfield with any business related issues. CED staff members will assist with site selection requirements, information and research needs, public relations and relocation services, small business issues, or streamlining regulatory processes.
